Title: All About Theatre Author: National Theatre This book is about The National Theatre. It tells you about how they make shows like War Horse, One man, two guvnors, Hamlet, Treasure Island and Emil and the Detectives. I enjoyed this book because it taught me a lot about different aspects of theatre and now I want to go and see some of the shows mentioned in the book. I really recommend the book. The lighting section is my favourite because the lights do cool things and with the lights you can change quickly from one scene to another. In each chapter, there is a section called “Tricks of the Trade” which gives you details about the tricks the actors use, such as food and drink, making costumes look old and what actors do to warm up. I really enjoyed reading about them. If you have an interest in theatre this is the book for you. If you are a bit squeamish, there might be a few pages that are a bit too graphic and you might want to hide the photos (even though it’s down to make-up and props) but the book is definitely worth reading. I give it 10/10

Mum’s friend Esther happens to be Molly Moskin’s mum and according to Timmy,…
Title: Mel Foster and the Demon Butler Author: Julia Golding I didn’t really enjoy this book because I didn’t understand it and found it difficult to follow, as it kept flicking from one place to another. Maybe it’s for an older audience of 11+. However, don’t let my review stop you reading the book as you may enjoy it more than me. I think I’ll come back to it in a year or so as I like to re-read my books!
Title: The World of Warriors: A new Hero Author: Curtis Jobling This book is about a boy who goes on an adventure to a different land and this is how his adventure begins! One day, Trick was in his grandfather’s second hand book shop; like he was every morning and they discussed Trick’s pendant that his mum had bought for him. Later that day Trick, was in a comic shop as he liked comics. As he left he bumped into three bullies. They took his comics and tried to take his wallet but he managed to escape. They chased him around town until he reached The British Museum. He ran past the curtains into a new exhibition and then ran into a room at the back. It was full of mannequins! Soon 2 of the 3 bullies found him and the smallest one had a metal pole in his hand. Trick saw a dish made of the same thing as his pendant but as soon as he got close to it, his pendant stuck to it like a magnet and it nearly strangled him. The youngest bully was about to hit him with the pole but then a blue piece…

The main character is Scout (she is a German Shepherd) and she is training to be a police dog. Scout’s dream is to catch the notorious Frank Furter before he steals all the juicy sausages like venison and redcurrant, chipolatas and chorizo. That day, the puppies are trying to get their Care in the Community badge. On the way to school, Scout helps a little girl and Scout gets dirty and then she is late for school and two of her tests…. Title: The Usbourne Mini Astronaut’s Handbook Author: Louie Stowell It was a good information book. It taught me all about how to be an astronaut for example, how life is on the ISS (International Space Station). Did you know that to be an astronaut you need to be: a generally healthy person; bright and hardworking; friendly and fine in small spaces? I won’t be a good astronaut because I need to be comfy and can’t live in small spaces! I can’t wait for the official book to come out. Alexander I like the footnotes that give you little snippets of information which will be more detailed in the real book, e.g. how they pee and poo! Also, I like the colourful illustrations. We give the book 10/10. Daniel

Nothing will stop him finding out some news and he’s got plenty of news to tell when Mr Hardy (the Head) leaves and then Mr Jones (an alien) takes over his job… IN THE MIDDLE OF TERM! MR JONES ALLOWS THE PUPILS TO EAT SWEETS AND HAMBURGERS IN CLASS and this is where the story begins. I really enjoyed this book and the pictures and comics in it.
